The world has changed dramatically this year. When many of the ways we used to stay active and social are no longer safe, it’s easy to get into a slump — mentally and physically. Here at GGblue, we came up with some wellness ideas that we think could be helpful to everyone in this time of COVID-19 and quarantine. Wellness activities include anything that helps your mind stay alert, keeps your body active, or makes you happy!

Wellness Begins with You

While many of us have to put away our clubs and golf skorts for the time being, we can still enjoy this time of quiet. Here are some fun ways to stay well:

Reading is a great way to escape reality. Let’s be honest: this pandemic has taken a lot from all of us. Sometimes you just want to get out of your current situation. Since we can’t travel right now, reading is the next best thing. Choose a fun fantasy or travel book to let your mind explore somewhere new!

Go for a Walk

Exercise is one of our favorite wellness activities. While we’d rather be at the club sporting our best golf top on the course, we’ll take a walk over nothing. Just getting out of the house is incredibly important. Otherwise, you’ll go stir crazy. Trust us — it’s not pretty. Take your dog for a walk around the neighborhood or walk with your spouse for some one-on-one time.

Video Chat with Friends and Family

When quarantining, it’s easy to think that we’re all alone. Self-isolation turns into feeling isolated from your loved ones. It’s hard. That’s why you have to keep in touch with your friends and family. Video chatting is a fun, easy wellness activity. Try making it a weekly event and play games together!

Bake

We consider baking an essential practice during quarantine. While you can absolutely find good, healthy meals, we’re here for the cookies. Cookies, brownies, cupcakes, you name it. Anything to make us happy. Everything in moderation, right? So go for one of those walks we talked about before you bake. Problem solved!

Coloring is not just for kids anymore! We think that coloring should be a wellness activity for everybody. It is so soothing and fun. Plus, there are some quality adult coloring books out there now. This is a great activity to keep your hands busy while watching a movie or listening to music. Unleash your creative side and color something beautiful!
